125 High Speed Mode is an end-to-end solution for 54g™
products that provides up to 40 percent greater throughput than
typical 802.11g systems without impacting the performance of neighboring
wireless LANs. New products from several leading Wi-Fi equipment
vendors feature this new “standards-plus” technology
that improves real-world performance without causing interference
to other wireless devices. Independent test results from KeyLabs®
found that access points and routers enabled with Broadcom’s
125 High Speed Mode provide the best real-world wireless LAN performance
in the industry. 125 High Speed Mode devices were shown to provide
an average of 59% higher through put than those using standard
802.11g, and offer up to 17% better performance than those based
on the competing 108 technologies.
* When operating in High Speed Mode, this Wi-Fi® device
achieves an actual throughput of up to or greater than 34.1 Mbps,
which is the equivalent throughput of a system following 802.11g
protocol and operating at a signaling rate of 125 Mbps. Actual
throughput will vary depending on environmental, operational and
other parameters.
Xpress™ Technology
Broadcom’s wireless solutions enhanced with Xpress technology
increase throughput by improving the efficiency of wireless transmissions.
Xpress technology uses standards-based frame-bursting to achieve
more efficient data transmissions, which can increase aggregate
performance in a homogeneous 802.11b, 802.11g or 802.11a network
by as much as 27 percent. In a mixed 802.11g+802.11b environment,
aggregate performance improves by as much as 75 percent and individual
54g™ clients enhanced with Xpress technology can achieve
more than six times greater performance than legacy 802.11b products.
