Many people have purchased turbochargers that "should" work with their specific vehicle/engine combination and have found that the end results were disappointing. This can happen when purchasing turbochargers from suppliers that never actually see or work on the vehicles. Oftentimes, salespeople from these turbo rebuilding outfits have in mind of what "should" work. Every engine possesses different characteristics (i.e. bore, stroke, RPM capability, camshaft profile, volumetric efficiency etc.). These differences, in turn, would alter turbocharger selection.
